Doris Gibbons – I am Canadian and I lived 45min way from where you live and worked in the town you are from (now in MO). I have to disagree with you, people in that area think that just because they have 4wd and snow tires that they can go as fast as they want. There just isn’t enough traffic in that area to have the major accidents as they do in Toronto and on major roads like in these pictures. One slip up here and you have vehicles every where around you one slip up there and its only 1 or 2 cars.

I was in one wreck in 15 years and it was caused by a 4 wheeler that didn’t know how to drive in bad weather. Thank God it didn’t cause something like this. Prayers for all involved.

  • Sherry says:

Snow tires will not help on ice……not at all.

  • Brian says:

The truckers don’t risk thier lives because in the pile-ups, it’s the people not in trucks that get crushed by the trucks.

    • John says:

You are right. The truckers usually walk away. They are in a hurry and can’t avoid the accident. The cars slow down and then get rear ended by the truck which smashes them into the back of another truck, then they are dead. Happens every time. When they know they cant slow down very well with all that weight, they should be going half the speed of the cars. But NO, they still run 55mph or faster and become a battering ram crushing innocents people and children!

  • Kathy says:

I said everyone . And that’s exactly why tractor trailers need to give more space… because they can’t stop on a dime . Cars also but trucks need more room !

  • Kathy says:

To many drive to fast for the road conditions really you were in a hurry and now this happened Gee guess you’re going to have to sit and wait for a while ,slow down get there alive in one piece

  • Barbara says:

seriously? If you’re suppose to work and try, you will be fired. Nurses and Dr’s can’t call in every single time it snows. Hospitals don’t close down for bad weather. You are such a moron pos to even think….CALL IN. Guess you don’t work

  • Ronda says:

I have driven this highway a lot and really surprised it doesn’t happen more.

  • I agree as Prayers are needed for those involved in the multi wreak. Here in Alaska we have the same issue of wreaks. The weather is the issue when having to fulfil our duties to taking care of family daily needs. Can’t buy supplies if there is no money, and the job is on the line. It’s is just to be careful on the conditions yes, as I understand. They had no choice. In the line of duty (e.i – The military men and women whom fight for our country’s freedom. They too cannot stay home as a choice, and that is not going to a negative view aspect.
Some are adjusted to driving in the weather conditions we apprehend, and when we are not when on our future journeys” with changes we have no control over. I had a incident of icy road area into a trailer hitch taking off my bumper. Not my fault, as the weather predicts or we can find solutions to maybe carpooling then with 4×4’s. I just know now that we are to be in two or more in order for the Power of Prayer, and not necessarily if your alone. Jesus is always with us.
I hope and Pray that everyone is alright and families are strong in numbers. Please instead of complaining, we should remember those involved, and appreciate those whom were either not hurt, as well to having you loved ones still by your side. This includes the life you still have with the family members breathing still. (Insurance companies/rental car lots are busy)
    Amen.

  • My parents live in Missouri and this started as rain, then ice, then snow on top. This happened so fast that the plows didn’t get out quick enough to sand.

  • Becky says:

My daughter just had to go to work on day 4 years ago. I told her not to go. But she did and yep finally after 4 years she is almost normal. She was in a rollover. Freezing rain. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE will starve by staying home and off the roads for ONE day. It’s so not worth it. She didn’t/couldn’t work for 3 years. Brain injuries are nothing to mess with.

  • Don Pelka says:

I can see WTF happened , 3 or 4 trucks at the front of the pile up. First guy comes over that tiny little ridge , notices it’s a little slick. Instead of keeping the wheel straight and off the brakes he crapped his pants thinking it’s real icey , hits the brakes a few times and the trailer is now trying to pass him. All the other trucks around him do the same thing until thier all at the slight uphill turn and all piled up 320,000 lbs. Of scrap metal cause one or two idiots can’t get off the “F” ing Brakes.

  • Angela kent says:

Hope & pray everyone is ok

  • Monique says:

people when they see that slow down they don’t they keep on trucking thinking they are impervious to the weather 🌍☀⛅☁💧⚡❄ the only way you see people slowing down is when you start sliding or in the ditch.

  • How bout just a , Prayers to all.” I doubt anyone set out today thinking about causing or being involved in an accident. It happens. Perfect weather, crappy weather.

  • CAREFUL RANDY, YOU COULD GET PUT IN JAIL FOR TALKING LIKE THAT IN CANADA EVEN IF IT’S THE TRUTH !

  • T. Rabideau says:

Too many trucks on the roads. Put it back on the rails.

  • Trux Driver says:

Shit happen then they pull there. Head out

  • Patricia Fiedler says:

My experience in Missouri is mostly with ice. All the time. Ice under the snow, ice on top of snow. Ice all over the trees! It’s just crazy!

  • Arthur says:

Cb on instead of head sets would off prevented over half of this junkyard of scrap iron and fiberglass

  • Pat Johnson says:

Then why don’t truck drivers follow the rules in Michigan???? They go 70 mph in ANY KIND of weather. Had a wreck like this in Michigan last week in blizzard…..17 semi’s and 8 cars. My husband hauls RV’s and it is bad out there. Especially CANADIAN drivers. Police officers don’t mess with them for some reason.

  • Melisaa says:

I’m praying for all of,them I truly hope no-one died,

  • Mindy says:

we need to really not everyone is an idiot and all it takes is one to fuck 50 more!
